It couldn't be any easier to get bankruptcy information. Nearly all bankruptcy courts have an automated VCIS (Voice Case Information System) line which you can simply call and do a bankruptcy search by case number, name, or social security number and retrieve information. If there is no VCIS number for particular court, you can call during regular business hours and inquire. The phone numbers listed on this page were up-to-date at the time of this writing, but phone numbers do change. You can always check the web site for a particular court. Some courts also offer online access to bankruptcy records at their sites.
