Virtual Network Computing
This is a free product from AT&T Laboratories that works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris systems. Since VNC does not encrypt the data passing between the host and remote PC, it is not secure; although, initial passwords are needed in order to connect. If security is important to you, you may make VNC more secure using SSH. If you're a techie, the source code is available for viewing.
