Can anyone help me out on the subject of tailing? I have a 20% successful tailing rate (i.e. I can tail 2 out every 10 attempts to a location) and it's driving me nuts. I am wasting tons of time and and missing out on good video.

I am not an expert, but I like to keep at least one car between me and the tail. Do not take your eyes off the tail for a second or you could miss them switching lanes or turning, etc. Some days you can follow all day long, and some you can't. _________________ Craig Pifer

What do you think the reason is? Give me an example of what happens.
I lose Claimants or Subjects a time or two as well, but I gauge the risk of being spotted. Do I follow close or give them a few 'cusion' vehicles. I ask myself "why is this person being followed?" Are they more inclined to THINK they are being followed, so as I give them ALOT of space. Sometimes I even set up on a place and have NO intention of following them(eating alot of un-billable time, but gain alot of information). It all depends...
do you lose them because of red lights?...that's a WHOLE different animal. |
