The community at Spies Online is meant to be a meeting place where intellectuals can share meaningful repartee. All visitors are welcomed in the spirit of friendship and acceptance. There are a few guidelines:

-- Spies Online will not tolerate the posting of offensive (foul, abusive, or mean-spirited language, etc.) on the message board.

-- Taunting someone or beginning a flame war should be avoided. A person's ideas may be challenged, but the person must be treated with respect and tolerance.

-- Posts may not contain copyrighted material without permission to reprint - short quotes and paraphrases are fine if the source is mentioned. For example, if you wish to share a news article, use a short quote and a link. Don't post entire articles.

-- Posting at Spies Online constitutes your permission to display your post for the life of the community. If you wrote an editorial to a newspaper, it would be impossible to "unpublish" it. Although the same thing is not true here, we are making this rule. Why? If a disruptive individual were to be "locked out" of the community, for example, it would be very disruptive to discussions if that individual wanted all of his/her postings removed. Spies Online may, at its sole discretion, remove posts of members who have been denied access to their posts if requested and time permits.

-- Posts may not encourage criminal acts.

-- Posts may not contain virus-laden attachments.

-- Posts may not contain threats of harm to self or others.

-- Posts may not be legally defamatory.

-- Posts may not contain unduly vulgar or X-rated content.

-- Posts may not contain embedded music.

-- Posts should not be in ALL CAPS. This is considered shouting.

-- Sexual harassment of any kind will not be permitted. This includes posting love poems or similar overtures to unwilling recipients.

-- Posts may not contain advertisements or links to affiliate programs.

-- Brief, tasteful signature files with a link to your home page are fine; however. excessive messages which appear to be for the purpose of displaying a signature file will be removed.

-- Excessively long posts may be removed.

-- Juvenile behavior or disruptions on the forum will not be tolerated. People who do not seem to fit in will have posting access removed.

-- While Spies Online supports "free speech," please remember that this community is like our home and you are our guest. We reserve the right to decide which persons we allow into our home.

-- The posts and comments in this forum are personal opinions and not professional advice. People here have varying levels of expertise.
