Everyone:

The rules of this game are simple. Everyone just adds a paragraph to the mystery story, and we'll see where it leads. Keep it clean. Wink

I'll begin simply:

It was a dark and stormy night. A group of Spies Online members had decided to get together for a huge masquerade ball for the New Year. Everyone would wear masks until midnight.

As they trickle in the door, shaking off their coats and umbrellas, they look around to see who had already arrived. Most of them have never even met face to face so it was a challenge to see if they could match up faces with personalities. The presence of masks made this difficult but it promised to be an exciting night.

Suddenly, there was a loud clap of thunder, loud enough that everyone took notice. The wind could be heard howling through the tall trees that surrounded the old inn. A pair of small eyes peered out at the crowd from under the staircase.

A woman dressed as Miss Marple screamed and pointed. A large man dressed as Nero Wolfe reached under the stairs and grabbed Birdlock pulling him into the light to reveal a frightened dog holding a small package in his mouth.

On a night like this anything could happen and no one wanted to be the one who had to touch the mysterious package. As everone looked around nervously one man in a long dark trenchcoat stepped forward to look at the package, which the dog had dropped just before running to the darkest corner he could find.
